Butterfly House

My good friend Kristi came to town with her daughter Sienne who is 4 months older then Rylan. We went to the butterfly house which was the first time for both Rylan and I. The place is actually really cool. I had no idea it was going to be so hot - 80 degress with 80% humidity, what a mistake for both Rylan and I to be in sweaters! However, we had a great time. Rylan is still a little young for it as he was so determined to get in the water. I spent the entire time chasing him to make sure he didn't go for a swim. He loved the butterflies and i'm sure it will be a place we will frequent more often as he gets older. Plus it's a great place to take pictures:)

1 yr check up

About a week after Rylan turned one we took him for his 1 yr check up. Rylan weighed just over 24 lbs and was 29.75 inches long. He is 70% for weight and 50% for height. His percentages continue to stay the same. Ry received 4 shots which were miserable. He held his breath so long that we were starting to wonder if he was going to breath again, we felt so bad for him but it was quickly over and he was fine just moments later. Casey loves to make fun of the fact that Rylan is almost half my height. I'm sure it won't be long by the time he outgrows me.

We had a great 1st birthday for Rylan and so happy so many friends and family came to celebrate. I honestly can't believe I gave birth a year ago, it's really hard to believe. Times flies when your having fun:)

I was due with Ry exactly one year ago today. Here is a picture of me from that date...STILL pregnant!!! And we don't have a birthday for another week.

Daycare

After I had Rylan I was fearful of taking him to daycare. I went around to different centers and cried after I would leave... I thought taking him to daycare was going to be horrible. Well, I was wrong. Rylan LOVES daycare. He is so happy when I take him there and next to never cries when I leave him and even waves bye-bye to me. At one moment you would like to see him alittle upset that your leaving but the truth is there is nothing better then having him be so happy at his little home away from home. He sees the other kids and it's an instant smile. Sometimes he even bear hugs them, it's SO cute.

What they tell me about Rylan at daycare is he is their pacifier stealer. Ry never took a paci but defiantly wants what the other kids have in their mouth. If he gets it from them he puts it in his mouth - oh germs are great. For those of you who know me and my germ issues, it's something i've had to learn to let control of!

Rylan is also their best sleeper, especially after I brought them our vacuum CD. The poor other kids have had to learn to sleep with it as well. Sometimes he sleeps 4 hours at daycare and just a few weeks ago he took a 5 hour nap. Man life is good!

The latest i've heard about Ry is that he likes to dance. When they turn the music on, him and his friend Hunter dance away. Ry just learned to clap and he learned that from his little friend. So after all my fears and sleepless nights, I could not be more happy with our daycare experience.

11 Months Old

Rylan is officially walking... It's just crazy to see him grow up so quick. I can't believe how much they change in the first year and have a harder time realizing he will be 1 yr old next month. Kids sure do grow up quick!!!
